Hello, and welcome
My name is Michele Bolitho.
I live in Canberra, Australia's national capital.
These days I'm a writer and speaker on the nature of the self. This covers stress management and much much more.
I was granted full membership of the Australian Psychological Society in 1972 and began my career as a Counselling Psychologist. Fourteen years (and four children) later, I opened my own therapy practice, along with my seminar centre OPEN MIND, where I ran seminars, courses and workshops in 'optimal personal wellbeing'. I specialised in stress management.
I also worked as a consultant psychologist and seminar presenter to government departments, business organisations and health centres in many Australian cities. I lectured in Health Education at the University of Canberra, and tutored there in Behavioural Science.
At the same time, I was an authorized civil marriage celebrant. I still am. You may like to visit my blog Michele the Celebrant.
At OPEN MIND I ran courses, seminars, workshops and small groups in many other areas of personal wellbeing, such as communication skills, personal development, career planning, parenting skills, self-esteem, creativilty and simple alpha meditation.
I ran my practice and seminar centre for eleven years until writing began to take over my life!
In 1997 I closed OPEN MIND to write fulltime. I even moved out of home for eighteen months to a small apartment nearby where I could write in the night and sleep in the day.
I love the internet and I know my future is here. I plan to put hundreds of pages of notes from my work as a therapist, seminar presenter and small group leader into free articles for this site.
